I have been racking up on school supply deals at the Target Dollar Spot, but this is by far my favorite find.
I picked up the book My Friends Tigger & Pooh The Case of the Sticky Sticks. It's an easy reader level 1 Pre K-Grade 1.
First, Cricket actually enjoyed the story and has asked to read it over and over again. I actually enjoy reading it so far too.
Second, she is already able to fill in words from the story if I stop reading. I am sure this is due to repetition, memorization, and context clues NOT actual reading. However, I point to the words as I read, and I make sure she looks at the word she is "reading".
All in all, this was totally worth the $1 price tag, I only wish they had more books there on her reading level.

ReplyDeleteI have really had to restrain myself with all the great "school" deals, and try to just focus on what we actually needed. I almost bought those puzzles too, but I ended up putting them back!
