I had the opportunity to A Christmas Prayer by Amy Parker. I know it's early, but I was hoping by reviewing it early enough if it was good I could recommend it in time for others to buy it for Christmas.
It is a padded board book and the illustrations are simple leading me to think it's geared for toddlers. The story doesn't match this description to me though. I found myself tripping over the words as I read it to my darling daughter (she saw a new book and wanted to read it regardless of topic). As much as she loves books, she was totally unengaged, and uninterested. The story just didn't flow well.
On the positive side, it did do a nice job of stressing what Christmas is really all about and encouraging thankfulness for the Christmas gifts that God has given us all. It would be a good conversation starter or resource to use as part of a Christmas lesson.
