The week with the 105 degree fever...

Cricket got sick at the end of the week which threw a kink in our plans, and she terrified me with a record breaking fever for her of 105 degrees. Cricket has always run high fevers, but this was a first. Luckily I was able to get the fever back to a "normal" Cricket fever of around 103 and her pediatrician's office was fabulous!  I'm curious what other homeschool mamas do on sick days.

In school life, everything went ok on the days we were able to do school. She is really enjoying the combination of our daily board and calendar.

Once again Cricket was a BIG fan of the playdoh part of her work.

She is progressing ok with the program, but I have also started using Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons. This is much more effective with Cricket for actually learning to read.

Cricket is progressing well with Horizons, and enjoying the work. Some of it is a review but other parts are new and I like the way they mix the work around each day.

As we continued on our Expedition Earth journey this week we visited Panama. Cricket is really getting into the prayer box concept, but she is making pretty much the same prayer every week.
Another favorite now is painting the flag.

Cricket is really in love with painting right now, and water paint is her current medium of choice.

Thanks for visiting,
